Speech and Language Therapy outpatients

Your GP or hospital doctor may refer you for outpatient Speech and Language Therapy if you have a problem with speech, language, swallowing or voice. You may also see us as an outpatient after a stay in hospital.

When you attend your outpatient appointment your therapist will spend some time getting to know you and your particular needs.

They will find out how your problems affect you in everyday life and offer information, advice, strategies and/or exercises to help.

There will be plenty of opportunities for you to ask questions. There may also be questionnaires to complete to help us understand how we can best provide you with rehabilitation and support.
