Your wellbeing
Each of the Trust’s four main hospital sites has a Wellbeing Hub, where you can drop in at any time to speak to our dedicated wellbeing officers, take a break or grab a cuppa.
Occupational Health
Occupational Health is a multi-disciplinary service that aims to promote and maintain the physical and mental wellbeing of employees at UHB.
Occupational Health provides all Trust employees with direct access to free professional and structured counselling. All colleagues are encouraged to take advantage of the free service. They provide solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) which focuses on strengths and resources to re-enable coping strategies that may have fallen from use. Our counsellors are trained in a range of other therapies which may be more appropriate if needed.
Keeping fit
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham has an on-site gym and swimming pool facility, The Morris Centre Club. The Morris Centre Club is a friendly leisure club for UHB colleagues and their friends and family members. The club aims to provide the best facilities, and value for money, all in a convenient location on the hospital campus. It includes a 22 metre swimming pool, squash courts, air conditioned gym and outdoor basketball/tennis court and five-a-side football pitch.
You can find more information on The Morris Centre, including how to sign up, on their website:

Farmers' market
Each month, our main hospitals host a Farmers’ Market for both colleagues and visitors. In addition to offering a great choice in fresh foods and produce, the farmers’ market supports local businesses as well as social enterprises working with disadvantaged local people. Solihull Hospital’s market takes place on the first Wednesday of the month, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital market takes place every second and last Wednesday of the month and Good Hope Hospital hosts theirs on the third Wednesday of the month. Heartlands Hospital is working hard to launch their market, too.
