Driving to work

Cars in traffic close to the QEHB site

Jumping in the car seems to be the easiest, cheapest and most convenient way to go anywhere, or to and from work.

However with high fuel prices, congestion and car parking issues, the reality of driving to work is somewhat different for many people.

Thousands of people work on our hospital sites that are mostly in highly populated areas with residential traffic, therefore there is a lot of congestion during peak times, both on site and on the roads approaching our hospitals.

Alternative modes of travel such as public transport, cycling, walking or car sharing are advised wherever possible because they are cheaper, cleaner, more convenient, and much less stressful.

Clean Air Zone

If you're travelling to one of our locations by car, you may need to pay to travel through Birmingham's Clean Air Zone. Check the Brum Breathes website for full information.
